Remnants from the night before

Check out all the digging that went down the day before
That hole is about 20" deep. About 12" of concrete will fill the bottom.
Some parts of the lot were easier to dig than others. In this area, a band of clay ran through the soil and that made for some tough digging.
See the clay (light brown) layer?
This photo shows how far they dug in just two days. Ian is currently working on the back line of the house.
While they dug, I began day 2 of painting the shed:
Although I spent two full days painting, I still wasn't finished! I planned to stretch it to three full days to finish the white trim. We realized quickly that "Dive In" was the perfect shade of aqua for the house, but something definitely had to be done about that pink. So in addition to adding a second coat to the trim, I was going to return to Sherwin Williams the following weekend for a new paint color. Although the pink color wasn't my cup of tea, I am still digging the South Beach shed!
Good news: We received our permit, so now the official building process can begin!
